Where We’ve Been

From home to the Woodchute Wilderness area, we drive about 17 miles on narrow, winding roads to box #2 on the map. The campground there is called Potato Patch and it is across 89A from the Mingus Mountain Recreation Area. From home to Red Rock State Park is about 14 miles up 89A toward Sedona. (Box #3) Red Rock Crossing is in just about the same spot. From home to Slide Rock is about 25 miles. (Box #4) Once you make it through the traffic jam of Sedona, the canyon road is pretty nice, but like most mountain roads, winding and a little slow. We have also been to a picnic area between Sedona and Slide Rock.
