Picacho Peak State Park
This is a view of the east side of Picacho Peak. It’s the one on the left. The main trail to the peak begins at the sign and goes pretty much straight up to the base of the rock, which is all in shadow in this shot. It turns right and goes along the base of the shadow to the saddle, then over the saddle and to the peak on the backside. We may or may not ever try this trail, now that we have found the one on the other side. There is also a trail that begins at about the same point and goes up to an overlook. From there you get a good view of the ostrich farm at the base of the mountain and they say both Phoenix and Tucson, although we have only been able to see Phoenix from there.
