This road is pretty amazing. At one point, after you have gained a lot of altitude, you wind down through several switchbacks all the way to the bottom of the canyon. Of course, you then have to go back up the other side, but there is a rest area at the bottom where you can get out and stretch your legs, or (if you are a flatlander), let your brakes cool down. These shots are taken from various spots at the rest area. The first one is the bridge across the river at the bottom of the canyon, taken from right next to the river.

The next picture is taken from the old bridge, still standing, which is used for foot traffic across the river. You are looking at the brand new bridge.
